I had only just poured the sample and my study was immediately filled
with a wonderfully, herbal scent. Burned malt, almond cookies, brown sugar,
vanilla and ginger. After a while it gets something that reminds me of cooked
vegetables, but of the good sort. The longer you wait, the sweeter it becomes
with the emphasis on the cookies.
Despite the high ABV, the attack is very soft. Quite creamy and mouth
coating. It turns pretty peppery midpalate, but the sweetness dominates and is
a nice fulfilment of the promise from the nose.
On the finish, fairly long, vanilla erupts once more.
