    C: Sweeter than the 12yo with a mild-yet-determined citrus note. Also, this has more body than the 12yo and a longer form also.

    Young and powerful Caol Ila. Smells nice of smoke, campfire and bacon. Tasty then next to the smoke also some sweetness and lemon notes. Overall, quite strong and spicy, especially the aftertaste.

    Our conclusion: The Caol Ila Moch is an excellent whisky and at the same time proof that Islay-Malts can be really good even without age. Smoke, peat, ash and sea salt are finely interwoven to give a whisky that is very enjoyable. Also for beginners highly recommended. For 35 to 40 euros a clear buy recommendation!

    An avalanche of coarse salt, iodine, spray. Fresh lemon peel, an ounce of vanilla. Vaporous smoke, a very mineral side, even metallic. The shells stuck to the rock. Behind, a little liquid honey.
    On the palate, honey and peat come out, lemon, white pepper, butargue, it is slightly acidic. A stony taste in the finish, quite long, sparkling, caramel, peat and coconut milk. It's a very maritime profile, I like it a lot, for a NAS at less than 45 ° it's really exceptional.

    A young average malt - not bad, but not spectacular - also expensive!
    • Nose
      very pleasant smoky note, behind is little ... light sweetness, alcohol;
    • Taste
      beautiful sweetness on arrival, some smoke, a full spice spreads; obviously young, one-dimensional;
    • Finish
      relatively short, quickly fading finish! Here you can clearly see the youth.

    Nice light peat, relatively dry. The smoke lasts long. Unfortunately a little too easy for my personal taste.

    Yes, he is cheaper than the 12 year old. But the 12 year old is also better for classes. Someone once said, "I can not afford to buy something cheap." That's probably true ...

      Young and smoky. Campfire smoke. Some alcoholic freshness.
    • Taste
      70 70
      The campfire turns into a peat fire. You can guess oak - there is not much. In addition, something metallic. Somehow it does not seem to be finished yet.
    • Finish
      70 70
      In short, only smoke and alcohol.

    Not very interesting. Liked the Bunnahabhain 12 much better.
