  1. Thermidor scored this whisky 60 points Expert Senior

Tastes much younger than its age, as if it didn't mature properly in the cask. It also felt better at first, maybe a 63, but some time in the glass and a dash of water made it distinctly worse.

    Tasted blind.
    • Nose
Raw peanuts swimming in a measure of vodka. Dry and woody, like the insides of a cheap guitar.
    • Taste
A flat, dead body. Some moonshine and unfinished planks. A weird half-formed thing. After some time in the glass, a vile, greasy tang comes up that violates my poor taste buds. Spices past their sell-by date.
    • Finish
Eugh. A stinging, mean alcohol bite.

    Nose:
pleasantly sweet, honey, maple sirub, mild Taste:
first very mild, marzipan and sweet but then
a long, dry, leathery and bitter finish Overall impression:
In itself a great everday whisky, but the finish is a bit too bitter for me. PS: At presentation, I also evaluate the story with and has this whisky so plenty. :-)

So this is quite a bit weak Gold Cock 1992 is definitely a better candidate for testing of Czech whisky.
    • Nose
Very thin scent - green apples, lemons and vanilla, a little ginger - overall very light and not very complex
    • Taste
The taste is woody, slightly spicy and maybe lightly rubbery, a lemon / some detergent with a scent of lemon light in the background - again a light matter without any greater complexity
    • Finish
The woody flavor of the sour taste and the gum - the reverberation is very short

  4. nulty scored this whisky 77 points Expert Senior

The attack is a little pungent but the rest is harmless, even if there are some notes of ether or alcohol to disturb sometimes.
    • Nose
Notes of green wood, grass, yellow and white fruits, varnish, chemically treated wood .... A little alcohol to burn. Marzipan. Soap.
    • Taste
There it stings a little more already. A lot of wood, but again green, kind of shrub hedge. Always this little chemical side. It's a little aggressive but it's not really violent either. A little red fruit maybe?
    • Finish
Medium in length, cool, green. A bit of "biting" sweets.

This is somehow not whisky, as it imagines with the Scotch spoiled palate, rather sweetly raised liqueur. Got this drop at a dealer in Pilsen. He said that it is remarkable that the Pradlo distillery is only a few tram stops away from him, but he has to move to the "Hammer-Head" from the Netherlands ... so you can block the European highways too!
    • Nose
Grassy, stinging hay, fir resins, honey pitch; Birnenmost can also be filtered out
    • Taste
Straw and hay with many hay flowers, dusty, but also rubber!
    • Finish
then smelling perfumed Bluemchen on a heap of rubbish, then the smog over the Czech industrial area is shaken by a honey explosion

    This is more
a liqueur than a whisky. But it is a lot better than that other Czech whisky,
Gold Cock (what is in a name?). The Swedish Systembolaget took this Hammerhead
from the shelves as it would be hazardous for your health. Doh?
    • Nose

      The nose is
very perfumy. Loads of fresh flowers, vanilla and pears. Very much a liqueur, I
feel. Pear and plum liqueur. Not really my cup of tea.
    • Taste

      It is very
oily to syrupy and spicy. Aniseed (lots of it!) and cinnamon, white pepper and
some vanilla. Then it is back to the plum liqueur. It also has hints of
      bergamot and honey.
    • Finish

      The finish
is spicy and long and remains honeysweet.

This was actually removed from the Swedish systembolaget for being hazardous for your Health.

  8. HunterRomario scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

Some light-hearted supporters, such as Glenmorangie Original,
comparable to the style I would say is also Jameson 12y, that hit a bit worse, but even Mackmyra The first edition.
    • Nose
The smell is malt, light, with a bit of smell, I feel citrus bark and also a hint of tree bark.
    • Taste
Aligned, basically what the bouquet promises you, you will find the taste.
