Laphroaig launched two non-vintage products, 1815 (wb id: 183102) and lore (wb id: 177979), at almost the same time. I compared them side by side: lore is more refined, has a higher degree of carbonation, and is more old-fashioned; 1815 is much sweeter, has a bit of dry leaf flavor, and may have a lighter layer of peat, but in general, the blending strategies are different.

Coconut and palm sugar, the smoke is more like incense sticks, old cowhide is the base, the peat is a bit dirty, like peat with more dry leaves?
    • Taste
      87 87
1815 is much sweeter (still coconut sugar), the smoky peat is an order of magnitude weaker, it has some minerals, and yes, there is also sweetened black tea.
    • Finish
      87 87
The sweetness is more caramel-like, and the length is slightly better than lore
