The level of wood influence here is extreme. It has very strong wine-casked markers such as the jammy blackcurrant and acidity in the finish which with the rubbery notes makes me think it could be an STR wine cask with a high char.

At first there is baked spiced apple strudel, golden syrup and sticky toffee pudding which covers rich dark fruit compote, blackcurrant ham, grapefruit and a touch of orange. If you nose the glass for too long the fruit moves to plimsolls, plastic rubber (basketballs from school), a touch of gas and porridge. A note of wet flint ties it all together.

Big & Jammy. Lots of blackcurrant jam, more clove spiced apples.
    • Finish
      87 87
long, drying slightly vegetal and tannic with more blackcurrants, a winey acidity and rubber.
