  1. PhuongHuynh scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

A fairly safe and well-designed Macallan. Easy to drink but not very impressive.

Color: (yeah it's dark but does it matter?), slow legs, good chance of aged components
    • Nose
      89 89
baked ginger, molasses, muscovado, dried fruits, very strong alcohol initially, getting sweeter and minty with time. There is some sulfur in the form of matchstick but it's not very distracting. A bit metallic as usually the case with modern Macallan
    • Taste
      87 87
good palate, not as sweet as the nose, mouth watering, spicy and gingery, fine grounded cinnamon, dried apricot and dried fig, marmalade, a bit tannic from the wood.
    • Finish
      88 88
      medium, woody and chocolate.
