How to put it, there are no bright spots in terms of complexity and pleasure, like the answer sheet handed over by a well-established bartender in a big factory.
    • Nose
Fresh and green fruits, reminiscent of the original OB 25, crystal pears, green tongue, crisp apples, canned apricots, jelly, garnished with some salty olives and pine needles, peat really light, baked potato skins, moist corrugated paper, At the end, ham oil, cheese, milk aroma, and dried flower aroma appear.
    • Taste
Salt water, more sour and less sweet fruits, strawberries, green grapes, salty lime seven. The peat starts to work, charcoal fire, dark chocolate, coffee cake, roasted hazelnuts, matcha, some tropical fruits, jackfruit, big oil, sweet embryos appear in the back.
Strong, fatty, sweet, no sour, no astringency, no bitterness, no pungency, no alcohol, no irritation.
    • Finish
Long-lasting, salty ginkgo, peat smoke, sweet, slightly fruity.

Good but far away from astonishing and in this case simply overrated.

Kumquats, pith, minerals, dark green leaves. A bit of camphor, white pepper, salted and dried tangerine peel. Slightly smoky from crushing marble, English pears, green apples, assorted canned fruits, fruit punch and a hint of green radish, really good.
    • Taste
      92 92
Honey green tea, sweet and salted Lemonade, Chinese preserved plums (Li hing mui), dried figs and dried mint. Olive oil, grass, green guava and some pith.
    • Finish
      89 89
Charcoal, hay, Pomelo pith, minerals, chalk, white pepper, resin and PVC water bottle.

Nose: Delicious pickled lemon, sea salt, caramel cookies, Umami. Then the oily feeling began to emerge. Tuna in oil, martini olives, and the iconic herbaceous flavor of Genting in the early 90s, cool, extracted vegetable oil, fish oil, and even metal fishing tools that have been used for decades Feeling, is this a form of oily transformation? This is the first time I have encountered this taste. And as a whole, I can't feel any alcohol at all.

Drink: Fresh, delicious, and balanced. It seems to be a famous hand-made dish cooked by a Michelin-starred chef. The expressiveness is so good. In Cantonese, it is nothing to play! ! !

So layered and eclectic in terms of flavour, with almond milk, orange sorbet, fresh lavender, candied coal smoke, Italian green olives, coconut marzipan, candied paint, squid ink, motor oil, oven roasted potatoes with rosemary (I swear!), all perfectly integrated from the nose through to the dense and oily palate, with an added layer of eucalyptus smoke carrying the rest of the flavour spectrum through to a satisfying finish.

Tried against TWA 1993 Longrow and Cadenhead 25yo Longrow. This was my 2nd fav.

The nose was fascinating, I got hazelnuts, chocolate and parfait.

Best Springbank I have had so far, wow!

  9. BlueFire scored this whisky 92 points Member Senior

Quite special. Complex and elegant with lovely balance of sweetness, bright tropical fruits, salty citrus, wax, lingering peat and a long finish.

    Tropical goodness!

Nose: fairy floss, apple, tangerine, nashi pears.

Palate: Apple, orange, bit of banana, pears, pineapple, bit of saltiness. Perfectly balanced.

Finish: Medium long, sweet and savoury, highly enjoyable dram.

One of the best Springbanks I've ever had on my tongue. The epitome of complexity. Clearly brings out the pure distillery market. Can only remember one better one. Bottling for Samaroli 57.1% vol. Everyone who has the opportunity should treat themselves to it once, regardless of the demanding prices currently customary on the market. A dream !!!
