    Blind tasting

G: Alcohol, vanilla, honey, little smoke, alcohol fades after a while

G: Sherry, vanilla, honey, spicy malt, light bitterness

A: In spite of the low alcohol content, it is rather tangy and bitter

Aroma: malt, dry grain tones, with a deeper breath - charred wood, ash, lemon slices, dried apples and pears for uzvar, light earthy shades. Not bright, but the balance is very good, everything is well calculated without anything protruding.

Taste: soft, spices and spices, smoke, ash, malt sweetness, caramel, pepper mixture.

Finish: pleasant enveloping pepperiness, smoke, machine oil, minerality, malt, prunes, medium length, not intense.

    Score: 81

Bottom line: a pleasant soft whiskey, not for deep analysis, but it will bring pleasure. I was especially pleasantly surprised by the finish, which is a good indicator for a blend without age indication.

Smoke is not particularly heard in the aroma and taste only in the aftertaste with a light trail. In general, a simple, drinkable blend. Slightly bitter, peppery in taste ..

    Quite straight and simple blend.

[October, 2020] I had this dram during a local community tasting "blends only". The batch was bottled June 1st, 2020.

In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 82,5. My notes state a young and balanced peaty profile which reminds me of the "Big Peat" blends. Heavy wooden notes are balanced with the peat flavours while the sweet malt aromas are a little too shy (in my opinion). Typical young stuff, but a good bang for your bucks...
