Whisky Reviews for Dufftown 2009 WCh
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.71 points
- This is quite an extreme example of a port whisky: the very dark port color is accompanied by an extreme herbal note, especially in terms of taste. This herbal note drowns out the actually beautiful port notes that have it very difficult to penetrate. Overall, it's not my whisky because I have more difficulties with the herbal notes.
Slightly herbaceous, strong fruit notes, very dark and somewhat unclean.
Initially extreme herbal notes such as a high-percentage herbal liqueur such as a Fernet Branca, then slowly and very tenaciously the port wine notes come through.
The aftertaste is long and quite alcoholic, ginger hot, warming and drying.
