Powerful and sometimes really violent! I already had a few "Classic of Islay" in my glass, although I would describe this bottling as extremely musty and smoky. Still a very interesting variant of the great "Classic of Islay" series, although with the best will in the world I cannot imagine that this cask should or can be a Laga ...
    Different, yet tasty and tasty!

    • Nose
Creamy amber shimmers from the Premium Snifter while the musty cowshed and rotten wooden floorboards are noticeable from afar. Warm smoke, ashes and steaming asphalt, plus sweet grapes and berries with caramelized sugar. The alcohol pushes itself powerfully into the foreground when you nosing again and tickles the nose. Musty, rotten, fermented fruits, grain and straw, just plain cowshed on the idyllic farm ... fly ash, sugar, sweet sherry and old vanilla, hints of meadow herbs and floral elements.
    • Taste
The first sip flows smoky and powerful through the mouth and immediately lines the palate with cozy warmth. Fly ash and tar, burnt wood and fiery embers, musty and musty, a mixture of an extinguished campfire and (again) a cowshed! Caramel and chocolate with a little cocoa powder, cinnamon stick and dried herbs, smoke and sweetness, voluminous and powerful. Right now my saliva is massively stimulated, a minty freshness pushes from behind towards the tip of the tongue. The aftertaste announces itself with hazelnuts and roasted almonds ...
    • Finish
Nuts and almonds, caramel and chocolate, sugar and sweetness, plus ashy smoke in the background. Grapes and berries come into their own, slightly musty and rotten, followed by dried apricots and minimal abrasion of citrus fruits. With wet hazelnuts and walnuts, the aftertaste gradually fades away and leaves a smoky sweetness.
