- Nice fruity and powerful whisky, with its nose a little bit better/more versatile than the taste. But pleasant dram for sure.
Very fruity, red fruit, berries, plums, raisins. Not too much alcohol. Later on more alcohol comes in, accompanied by some vegetal notes, and some peach.
Pretty powerful, intense. Some red fruits, honey, peach. A bit spicy as well.
Pretty smooth now, some berries, honey, middle long finish. Some winegums.
- A promising new initiative from 2 guys that have made their mark in the whisky industry. Curious to what they have to offer.
Alcohol is quite prominent at first. Bittersweet and a wee dry. also rather closed. It needs a bit of water to be added. I get cherries, orange peel, some raisin, black tea and cocoa. It is a decent nose but nothing to remember tomorrow.
Without water rather aggressive and restless. With water more creamy and pleasant. What I often experience with Macduff, I also experience with this one: It's too much middle of the road here. It offers a lot of usual suspects but I can't seem to find any specific characteristics.
On the medium-short finish I get quite some dark chocolate, pralines stuffed with mocca cream, again cherries, vanilla and a caramel like sweetness.
It is nice but rather middle of the road, not mind blowing.
- Nice nose, especially with a drop of water. Blackberry, berries, dark cherries, red fruits. 87/100. Taste: Too high in the alcohol, therefore volatile. Flavor: 85/100. Finish: pepper. Nice highland finish. We do not experience the aftertaste as long. Not too sharp. The nose is very nice for young whisky. Good entry into the series. Nice series for autumn and winter.
