  1. Archer scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Longrow, 10yo, Fresh Pinot Noir + Refill Malbec - sounds like a “red” - and could actually pass as one. Hardly any smoky distillate harmonizes so well with and develops so well in wine barrels as Longrow. It's great how he keeps the balance between fruit sweetness on the one hand and flavor and smoke on the other.
    • Nose

Immediately present. Basically, even while pouring, the Longrow exudes an incredibly intense aroma, which is even further intensified with only a short period of time. Freshly smoked ham from the smoke, warmed strawberry puree, generally warm red berries (only the vanilla ice cream is missing ...). Tarragon, savory and pepper come from the background. Slightly moldy and damp wood - if these were the stairs leading down to the old cellar (which can be clearly seen here), the minimum load capacity would be a maximum of 20kg. Strawberry chocolate, chocolate lentils, a strong espresso.
    • Taste
      91 91
This mixture of fruit sweetness, smoke and a bit of mold that developed so nicely in the nose: it can also be found on the tongue, just as pronto as in the nose. Smoked ham, out of the smokehouse a little longer now. Dry wood, the mold comes separately and leaves the wood alone. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries. Dry deciduous forest floor in autumn, hazelnuts. Chocolate sprinkles in the taste of dark chocolate, espresso beans. Over time, the dryness increases, nutmeg and pepper pull through.
    • Finish
      90 90
Medium to long, dry. Remnants of the berry fruits processed into compote can still be found here and there. The spicy smoke is a companion to the end, with one or the other addition helping to ensure that this does not occur too quickly.
