  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Rare Glendronach from the 1950s, bottled in the early 1980s. How cool is that? And it doesn't disappoint at all. Gorgeous juice, perfectly balanced.
    • Nose
Typical old nose with lots of dustiness of beeswaxed furniture and gentle polished oak. Add a store with second-hand books to that. Hints of candy-stick and caramel. Spices of cumin, camphor and chamomile. Later on some citrussy notes of grapes and lemon. Touch of sweet barley.
    • Taste
Sweet ginger bread with a cinnamon layer. Followed by coffee and cocoa-butter beans. Brow sugar. Sandal wood as well. In the background notes of honey, rum raisins and toffee. It all intermingles in a very fragile but gentle way. Very complex and enjoyable.
    • Finish
Medium long with white pepper and nutmeg. A little ginger. Liquorice at the end. Well balanced Glendronach from the old days.
