Rich. A battle between sherry and peat. Smoky, tarry, meaty, camphory, earthy. Leather and tobacco. Dried fruits (prunes, raisins). Coffee. Dark Chocolate. Spices. Heavily peated, heavily sherried but well-balanced. With time and lower volume, aromatic herbs and citrusy notes.
Surprisingly the palate is not as heavy as expected. Sherry and peat are still working in tandem, the palate is rich but also more chiselled and dry. Still some rancio, tobacco, coffee, dark chocolate, spices and smoke but also citrusy and coastal notes (smoked fish).
With water... forget water. The nose is more tarry, the palate simpler.
Long, lingering dried fruits, cocoa powder, spices and ashes.
