Alright, So I have never heard of Glendullan ever before, but thanks to the whiskybroker I got to buy a bottle of an IB bottling of this distillery. After some research this is apparently a Diageo distillery better known as the singleton of Glendullan. I paid 44€ for this bottle and for this price it is a really good bottling.

This is interesting as it is apparently a full sherry cask bottling from a ex sherry cask with an oloroso finish. But in the nose it is very sweet, with lots of toffee and vanilla notes, accompanied by some honey wax and some spices. It is very sweet though and you get a nose of blackberries as well. Interesting to say the least. As the sherry cask gives an additional sweetness. With Water, everytime I put it to my nose I get something different. Blackberries, Dough, Vanilla, Cinnamon. Weird!

Starts very sweet and basically a berry pancake with maple sirup and little burnt notes. Meaning I get some very vanilla and cheesecake doughey notes out of this but these notes are immediately followed by dark berries and maple sirup with a bit of a spicy oak note and a lingering sourness. With water even sweeter but less oak spicyness I prefer it without water.
    • Finish
      86 86
The finish starts very oaky and with a ton of vanilla but again it is very smooth and accompanied by dark berries and vanilla and maple sirup. It gets more bitter by the end and gives some cocoa and cinnamon. It’s not the longest finish but pleasant. And I can’t get rid of my pancakes with berries and maple sirup
