Like almost every ADoS bottling, this Port Charlotte is characterized by an unbelievable sweetness, whereby in this case the smoky aromas in connection with peat and earth partly suppress the fruity sweetness and create a harmonious balance. Tastes and pleases!

    • Nose
Long and oily "legs" stick to the glass wall, in the Premium Snifter slightly cloudy amber shimmers, tentative smoke rises ... At the beginning of the nosing, a mixture of mineral peat, cold smoke and dirty fruit sweetness tickles the nose. Sweet, dried grapes and berries dominate, currants and blackberries are tentatively added, echoes of a smoky campfire and a hint of fly ash gain in volume. Every now and then the alcohol shows its full potential and tickles the nose at this moment, then extremely sweet fruit aromas exude a partly rotten and musty tone. Minimal zest of lemons and a pinch of grated grapefruit peel play with caramelized sugar and old toffee, the smoky peat aromas have almost completely withdrawn, while at the same time they are earthy and slightly burnt in the nose again ...
    • Taste
The Port Charlotte wets the tongue slightly, suddenly dark smoke aromas and beguiling fruit sweetness compete, fly ash settles on dried and partly rotten grapes and berries, hints of grilled pork belly end in sour citrus aromas and sometimes almost acrid smoke on the tip of the tongue . Dirty, musty, earthy, smoky and sweet ... the taste dances pogo on the tongue and leaves a pinch of white pepper on the palate and on the cheeks. The mouthfeel is oily and creamy, bitter and tart, and now and then sweet fruit components flash. Another sip pours over the tongue with bitter and burnt wood tones. Pepper massages the tongue with its pungent aroma, smoke and burnt wood stick dry to the inside of the cheeks while the saliva flows suddenly and massively. Hazelnuts, wet leaves, tart citrus fruits in combination with raisins and dried oranges, the mouthfeel is extremely creamy and greasy at the moment.
    • Finish
Tart, dark wood tones stick to the palate, a few small clouds of smoke pass through the throat towards the stomach, hazelnuts and walnuts play with citrus fruits and dried berries, caramel and toffee end creamy and buttery in the stimulated saliva.
