This is the correct whisky, which unfortunately seems to be quite one-dimensional. The lean aroma is a bit worrying, after 16 years in refill butt a little more is expected.
I wasn’t set to meet the sticky sherry monster here, but the spicy nature of this edition with alcoholic moments is a bit disappointing.
Earthy and spicy nutmeg. Sponge cake in alcohol and tea notes. In the background, characteristic for Highland Park citruses. Some hard candies. An oldschool profile, but quite one dimensional.
sweetness with smoke from the campfire, pepper, citrus, traces of leather and tea, caramel. Salty.
warming with spices, citric acid, alcohol, oak bitterness and salt at the end. Medium long.
