  1. St. Pauli scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

    Quite enjoyable, easily drinkable dram.
    • Nose
Caramel, vanilla, butter, toffee, slightly peaty (because of the water used), yeasty (like the yeast in dark Belgian beers), grass.
    • Taste
Quite hot, pepper, ginger, a tad sour and bitter (grapefruit), apple, cereals, toffee and honey.
    • Finish
peppery and grassy, with toffee and orange and grapefruit.

  2. Kostya scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

    (A
sample) nose is quite engaging, generally a fine dram
    • Nose
      (neat) very delicate, sweet,
creamy, confectionery, touch of lemon                                                                                        (water) it’s light but no lack of
complexity, confectionery notes, vanilla, fruit compote (sour cherry)
    • Taste
      (neat) intense, spirity, sweetness
turns bitter quickly, grapefruit, bitter fruits, grass                                                                   (water) sweet-to-bitter, ginger,
      green apple peel, grass
    • Finish
      long,
      bitter and dry

  3. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

N: grass, lemon, barley, grains like a fresh beer and vanilla
T: sweet, very full, creamy with pepper, lemon, spicy - cumminseed, floral and perfume
F: pudding, roses and a little bitter

  4. HunterRomario scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
At the age of 18, I slightly criticized the less pronounced scent, here it was hardened, which I welcome! This time, the bouquet is thicker, thicker, I can feel the gooseberry again, but it also adds the scent of overgrowed gooseberry and a deliciously sweet, spicy aroma. We can also feel the over-ripened grapes. Against the 18th for me shift on the upper class.
    • Taste
On the tongue first beautifully sweet, then we feel apples, everything is soft, velvety, again pleasantly sweetly spiced. If the whisky's strength develops, it will crumble a little, then it will warm up and the flavor is so long that you feel sweet spices after 1/4 hour. Perfectly balanced whisky, Bladnoch again made me happy.

  5. magic_slim scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Good whisky but do not expect the earth to move, as Jim Murray would say.
    • Nose
Warming, sweet and pleasant with notes of vanilla, green tea and a little grapefruit. The grapefruit makes it rather fresh, so that it smells younger than it actually is.
    • Taste
Warming with toffee and quite a lot of pepper and even chili. Notes of tea that was brewed too long. Citrus fruits are present as well, mainly oranges. Tasty - I like it.
    • Finish
Medium long and dry, becoming more and more zesty.

  6. Ras Mazunga scored this whisky 82 points Super Administrator

Sadly this one is not nearly as good as the 18yo from a few years ago.
