At the same time mineral and pastry, mille-feuilles, vanilla flan, rocky sediments. Ginger and frangipane. Croissant filled with cream, white chocolate. A touch of salty iodine. Spray and foam. The peat is dirty, dusty. Coarse sand. In the mouth, it's fruity and vanilla, delicious almonds, but very quickly the spices rise, they are fierce, cumin, pepper. Fairly long, powerful finish, watermelon and lemon. Ample. Chestnut puree. Very slight touch of woody bitterness.

Really pleasant and you don't feel the youth of the product. Built on contrasts, between deliciousness and powerful peat, fans will appreciate

What a pleasure when a blind purchase turns out to be a crush, isn't it?

I have always drooled over the aesthetics of the Cask Strength Collection bottles from Signatory Vintage. So, when I saw this exclusive bottling for the @maisonduwhisky pass, I fell in love.

But I also fell in love because I love Bunnahabhain. Recently, I really liked Toiteach a Dhà, with a peat enhanced by sherry. The sherry butt aging of this Heavily Peated completely convinced me to give it a try.

And from the first nose, I knew I was not wrong. The first scent lets out a marine peat that characterizes Bunnahabhain. It is always a pleasure to find a feature common to a distillery in different bottlings.

Surprisingly, the nose is quite light, well structured by the wood, with iodized and spicy notes.

And in the mouth, it is the explosion. At the same time, is not a youth without adolescent crisis an incomplete youth? It offers great power on the palate, alternately iodized, caramelized, woody, smoky and cereal. The contrast between the mouth and the nose is incredible, but the complementarity is exemplary.

Crossing the finish line is long, very long. I rediscover the marine aromas perceived on the nose, then hints of earthy peat. The retro-olfaction is delicious smoky.

This Bunnahabhain is a five year old child who runs at full speed to throw himself into the sea. It amuses him so much that he will continue until he is exhausted. Until the glass is empty.

But he also puts me in his place. Because with each emanation dancing to my nostrils, with each sip lining my palate, I had only one desire: to throw myself into it.
