with water: it becomes almost beguilingly sweet in the nose without losing its strength, the same in taste, the finish also clearly gains in sweetness, but without becoming too sweet

Conclusion: This is a really great sherry barrel. Well done, Ian!
    • Nose
      91 91
Blackberries, toffee, dark caramel, some lovage (but pleasant), some leather, hazelnuts, and dark oak furniture, cloves, with a little time dark cherries, plum jam, chocolate, some pepper
    • Taste
      90 90
not quite as sweet as on the nose, nice and strong start with full sherry broadside, spices, cherries, leather, oak (clove) and a little pepper
    • Finish
      89 89
long, here a little bit more tart than the taste, leather, old furniture, cocoa, cloves, a little liquorice, and a bit bitter behind

A very harmonious whisky. I'm glad I got the chance to drink it. In my opinion, this is an example of a good choice of cask, which was bottled on time.
    • Nose
      91 91
Thick and dense sherry profile, it feels like it is blown into the nose with a hairdryer - it is so warm and persistent. grape marshmallow, prunes in dark chocolate, moderate dryness, the degree is also felt, but harmoniously, without sticking out, but adding a facet.
    • Taste
      91 91
Sweet, hot, very strong black tea (such as chifir) with a spoonful of thick plum jam, young walnut jam with shells (many of you have tried it), dry at the end, but sweet.
    • Finish
      90 90
All of the above, decreasing gradually.

    A delicious part.
    • Nose
      87 87
Dark cherries, dark chocolate, leather, strawberry, is already heading towards boules, walnuts

Water is good for him. The sweetness gets even stronger
    • Taste
      91 91
Sweet, but also spicy. The alcohol is nicely integrated and hardly noticeable. Cinnamon, cherries, pepper.

With water there is a great sweetness.
    • Finish
      88 88
Middle layer. Slightly spicier than the taste, but still pleasing
