A pleasant dram, warm, spicy, alongside with almost like dessert flavor. Honey, citrus, cakes, very oaky, and a little bit of peatiness. In general, An easy drinking one, but not with enough complexity for it's price.
Try adding a drop of ardbeg 10 into it, Thank me later:)

I like the fruity nose of Tomatin best. The taste of the tomato is too spicy, I miss the fruit flavors of the nose. In the finish, the spicy wood dominates. An interesting malt.
    • Nose
Subtle oak notes mix with fine malty sweetness. A hint of vanilla and a hint of fruit emerge behind the fine woody note. The fruit flavors are becoming more intense. Orange flavors are suppressed by intense banana.
    • Taste
Spicy wood leaps out of the glass. The seasoning is becoming more intense and sharper. A pinch of salt and pepper give off a heavy mouthfeel. Bitter woody aromas are created in the finish.
    • Finish
Slowly the sharpness stops. Spicy, slightly bitter woody aromas dominate the long and warm finish. Very slowly, the finish sounds. A bitter nut aroma arises.

    The bottle, costing
around 105 EUR, will not be available for long, since it has been replaced with
    the new 30 Year old.
    • Nose
      The nose is
wonderfully fruity, almost exotic without the almost. Pineapple in the lead,
yellow apples, white pears, orange zest, hints of nuts and banana. After a few
minutes a hint of smoke and infusion of lime tea. Splash of resin. Hint of wine gums. Soft, but not a softy, if you get my meaning.
    • Taste

      Nice attack with mild
spices, on fruit, honey and mint with a distinct bitter, but not oaky, touch of
the wood. Again that exotic side on the palate, primarily kiwi. Midpalate, it
does turn somewhat dry on nuts. Liquorice.
Tea again, that has infused a tad too long. Good stuff.
    • Finish

      The finish lingers on
fruit, with some oak and yellow apples as high notes.

The 25 year old Tomatin is a rich, full whisky with a predominantly malty fragrance. On the palate, the spirit is quite dry, with an aromatic aftertaste - which leads one to naturally address it again.

Aroma - The nose has a wondrous combination of ripe pears and orange zest over the resins of pine of cedar.

Palate - The taste is honey sweet for an instant; thereafter, dry, nutty and savoury, though the sweetness hovers on the edge of your consciousness well into the long dry aftertaste.

Finish - There is that oily richness again, and the memory of the dram is chewy and very long lasting.

Casks - Matured in refill American Oak casks
