    A sensational single malt. Nearly perfect!
    • Nose
      Fruity and lots of strawberries, plus cinnamon. Embedded in a very aromatic, pleasant smoke. Burnt orange peel. Very complex.
    • Taste
      Sweet and fruity, light smoke, then honey and some oak
    • Finish
      First sweet, then a pepperiness that is replaced after a short time by smoke and a long sweetness. Getting drier towards the end. Fantastic!

    Ardmore 12 years, Port Wood finish, 46% alc. Original bottling. Aging: Bourbon casks, post-aging in port wine casks

    Nose: Fruity with very delicate smoke aromas. I find strawberries, apples and honey, some Christmas cookies and echoes and freshly rolled cigars. Also mild orange marmalade and light spice aromas, some cedar wood. Very harmonious and aromatic.

    Palate: The smoke comes out more powerfully. Charcoal smoke and open campfire. In addition, sweet apples, currants and citrus fruits, overall slightly sour impression. Then malt and honey, a touch of cinnamon and pepper.
    Finish: Long and dry, the sweet fruit flavors completely disappear. Tobacco smoke and oak, bitter caramel notes and some pepper remain. The bitterness lasts longer.

    Conclusion: A very multifaceted Ardmore with several twists and turns. 83/100 points (2022)

    A very successful whisky with medium complexity.
    • Nose
      86 86
      Immediately a fruitiness after slightly fermented plums. Citrus fruits, but more tangerines than oranges. Almost like a fruit salad that has been sweetened with honey. Smoke can be felt subtly. Also something spicy - a bit like turmeric
    • Taste

      Mouth-filling still fruity, but less sweet and now with a clearly recognizable smoky note of campfire. Hardly any alcoholic heat. Now strawberry can also be seen. Adding water intensifies the impression of red fruits. In addition, there is still the nice mouth-filling feeling - immediately more oily with the addition of water.

      In the medium to short finish, the fruits are lost and there remains spiciness and smoke with a little residual sweetness.
