  1. Lorion scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Fascinating. At first I found the whisky "only" tasty and pleasant, but over time it became more and more impressive. I gave him plenty of time. There was a little more than eight hours between the first sip and the last of the glass. I kept coming back to the glass. Rarely have I had such a beautifully matured whisky whose oak influence continues to assert itself over time without becoming too tart. A different Couvreur compared to its sherry-heavy siblings. But I am very glad to have a small stock! 90 points.
    • Nose
Sweet honey, intense oak notes. Not harsh, not too bold, but noticeable. Fresh cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg. The nose has an amazing freshness. A hint of mint. There are juicy peaches and old, dry pipe tobacco. Although the heavy sherry notes typical of Couvreur can only be guessed at, the whisky is quite fascinating. It's been in the glass for some time now - three hours - and now the couvreur character comes through a little more. Intense apple cider, some leathery cherries.
    • Taste
The first attack is sweet, but leather and fermented fruits follow quickly. The peaches are still there, but not juicy and fresh, but shriveled and slightly fermented. In addition, a tobacco-heavy oak. The aftertaste is dominated by tobacco. With further sips, the whisky seems more and more sedate. Quiet, elegant, a creamy chocolate fills the mouth, not very sweet, not bitter. Balanced. That's it. Pretty balanced.
    • Finish
Unusually warm for a Couvreur. Long and bittersweet. In addition to the warmth, the sweetish tobacco remains in the mouth. He stays long.
