Not quite as good as I expected, but still tasty. Great barley and green fruit notes, especially neat. The palate has a nice texture and more great malty notes. It’s pretty hot, and while water can take the heat down, it makes things quite tart. It's not particularly complex either: this drinks like a younger whisky. All in all, there’s enough good here to outweigh the heat, but it isn’t one of my favourite Bunnas.
    • Nose
Nose: Fresh and barley-forward. Shortbread cookies, raspberry jam on toast, white-chocolate croissant, s’mores, and almond cake. Slightly tart fresh fruit: Strawberry lemonade, dried apricots, mango, salted-rim margarita, and banana. A bit of a dunnage note as the whisky rests, along with pineapple, cherry, and white tea.
With a few drops of water, it’s much creamier. More vanilla and mango, and some more of that earthy note. Strong sour green apples too.
    • Taste
Medium-thick texture, quite hot. Honey, lemon, peach tea, and sea salt on the arrival. Chewy, buttery barley in the middle, with melted milk chocolate, lime peel, ginger, white pepper, and a green floral note. Distant nutty sherry and a bit of olive oil.
The water brings out tart Granny smiths, vanilla crème, and some more grass. Some more water is needed to bring the heat down. Now the fruit is still green, but more tropical. A lot more water brings out more malty richness, honey, paraffin, stonefruit, sesame, and a little bit of seaweed.
    • Finish
Medium-short and fairly green. More tart fruit – tangerine, lime, cherry, banana, fresh raspberry, espresso, and extra-dark chocolate. Ginger, sea salt, and a bit of grass.
Water keeps things green and tart. More water adds strawberry ice cream and a lactic tang.
