- Again a very good choosen SC by the guys from the Wu Dram Clan...well done guys. The color let expect a lot and i wasn’t disappointed after trying these Sherry-Bomb. Good to see how different it is to to many 12/13yo SC from HP. Good balanced.

An initial hit of struck matches that isn't extremely dominant, but it doesn't really subside either. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate, molasses and forest fruits as well. A whiff of cocoa butter and vanilla pods too. Super intense and dense.
Creamy and pretty polished, which hasn't always been my experience with Highland Park at this strength and age. The sulphur makes an encore, but there's also shortbread, blackberries, burnt caramel and a barely detectable whisper of smoke. A touch of pepper as well.
Lingering pepper and somewhat drying. A touch of espresso. Long.
- Phew, sulfur! In general, I don't like sulfur, although this sulfur note is just bearable or borderline for me. Otherwise wonderful sherry with an intense herb and nut note. Tastes and pleases!
Strong caramel shimmers reddish in the glass, a thick and oily streak sticks to the glass wall of my Premium Snifter. Dark, dried fruits rise, meadow herbs and hazelnuts come into their own, slightly musty, hints of sulfur end musty and rot in burnt sugar and raisins. Sulfur? For me as a sulfur allergy sufferer, however, sulfur is pleasant in the form of sulfurized raisins and dates, whereby the sulfur also has a powerful musty side. I let the malt breathe for a few minutes ... raisins, hazelnuts, brittle, garnished with a handful of herbs somehow towards Hanuta. The (let's call it by name) sulfur has become more dominant in the meantime, as has the fruit sweetness. Abrasion and zest of old orange peel, caramel or burnt sugar, hints of dark chocolate and cold espresso.
The first sip flows aromatic and slightly bitter over the tongue, suddenly a load of pepper explodes in the palate and spreads extreme heat with a slight chilli catch throughout the mouth. Suddenly my saliva flow is massively stimulated, sulphurized raisins roll over my tongue, hazelnuts end creamy in the stimulated saliva. Sweet with a slight sulfur note is followed by a second sip, the sulfur note intensifies noticeably and is really borderline for me now. Hazelnuts mix with old walnuts, grated dark chocolate and a few drops of espresso, dried grapes and berries, rock sugar and the musty, rotten sulfur aroma ...
Dried berries rest on the tongue to be cozy and warm with a subtle, sharp note of pepper, and hints of citrus fruits in a combination of mint and fresh herbs stick to the palate. Thyme, lovage and other dried herbs swim creamy under the tongue, the mouthfeel is extremely creamy and pleasantly warm.

Almost 60%, aged in sherry casks, around 12 years old, a Scot. To be able to name a region or even a distillery, I lack that certain something that I would need besides the sherry.
Very cautious at first - this can indicate less active kegs or a high alcohol content. I tend towards the latter. The color says: sherry barrel, the nose is not sure yet. Old leather is slowly coming forward, dried fruits, now also spices. So he needed his time in the glass before he started. Peppery, maritime, cocoa powder.
Holla, yes, he has strength and is sure to approach the 60%. Grape seeds (it has a slight bitterness), raisins, figs, old leather, flavored pipe tobacco, nutmeg, milk chocolate.
Peppery and dry, sherry sweetness spread throughout the mouth. And if you now smell the empty glass again, you will even notice sulfur.

- 15 year old Highland Park bottled by the Wu Dram Clan. Many initially complained about a slight match / sulfur note. My bottle has been open for about a year now, luckily I don't notice sulfur, because I'm a little allergic. The nose is pleasantly dirty, despite 58% no alcohol stings and clear, of course the dark fruit aromas dominate the color. Blackberry, cherry, dates and oranges. There are also leather, espresso, black pepper and cocoa. First peppery and slightly spicy in the mouth, then a little sweeter and very spicy. Oak aromas dominate here already very strongly. Walnut, leather, tobacco are evidence of a lot of barrel contact. What I like is that a subtle minty freshness in the mouth and nose offers a nice contrast to the oak load. This gives the heavy aromas a certain lightness. The finish is then astringent, peppery, tart and slightly salty. I like it, if not the best bottling of the Wu Dram Clan. 88 points
Great nose! Brilliant HP! The sulfur notes are not distracting.

- Thijs100 nailed it. The sulfur note is not pleasing everybody. I do not mind it generally, but not in my HP. Besides that it is a really good SC, if you like it dirty. Just compared it to a 13y old SC no. 5875 2004/2018 for Luxembourg 65,4%. Clean SC HP. Somehow like Angel and Devil. Both great in their way.
