  1. ARDBERG did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    SMWS AT Winter 2003 list:

    Cream eggs and saltwater puddles
This whisky is from the other Campbeltown distillery, which produces just a few months a year and has two gooseneck stills. The sample is from a bourbon barrel, and eleven years have given it the typical pale yellow gold color. The first fragrance shows a typical Campbeltown: moss and seaweed with creamy undertones. There are also sharp, salty flavors like sauna wood. It tastes excellent undiluted, with a good, salty bite and a long finish that makes one think of a chewed pencil. Even with water remains this whisky on the coast: saltwater puddles and seaweed. Behind it is an idea milk chocolate and maybe even cream-filled chocolate eggs (that of Cadbury's). Diluted this whisky pampers the mouth with the same robust, already mentioned sea flavors, always balanced by a beautiful sweetness. If only this distillery could produce around the year!
