A dream! This old grant is just a dream and a reason why I love old whisky so much. Old and dignified, full of character and complex, mild yet voluminous, multi-faceted and simply delicious!

    • Nose
Creamy and intense amber shines in the Premium Snifter, on the glass wall sticks at the top of an oily and syrupy streaks from the long creamy "legs" solve and pull their tracks back into the glass. Roasted hazelnuts and spicy wood tones rise majestically, dark orange slices fall into sweet Vollmichschokolade, a hint of vanilla and sweet Waldhönig exude their wonderfully aromatic bouquet. Minimal hints of furniture polish and wet leather dissolve flashing, raisins in rum spread their beguiling aroma. Creamy caramel is infused with a hint of peppermint, subtle roasted aromas mingle with old vineyard peach and velvety nectarine, sweet apricot and shadow morels show up while nut chocolate with old toffee and caramelized sugar plays. Impressive is the 62er Grant his multi-faceted range of aromas and impresses with his characterful and mild nose. Old and dignified, the wonderful aromas run through the nose and massively stimulate the salivation.
    • Taste
Mild and velvety, the first sip flows through the palate. Creamy sweetness plays with fruity elements before slowly tart and dark oak from the throat pushes towards the tip of the tongue. Furniture polish and creamy wood elements are minimal on the tongue, wooden sharpness slowly lays over the tongue and spreads its subtle and pleasant aroma under the tongue. Appearances of citrus fruits appear on the second sip before again tart and spicy wood tones (despite only 40% alcohol content) distribute voluminous in the palate and line it with plump warmth. Old walnuts stick to the tongue, dark caramel and zest of dried orange peel merge with a few crumbs of dark chocolate. Raisins and cherries are mild and yet full of character, with old leather and austere tobacco slowly coming into their own. Cedar wood and a few crumbs of sweetish tobacco are reminiscent of an open humidor, the old tobacco flavor is noticeably more intense and dominant. Grapefruit and old oranges combine with a hint of raisins and hints of sour cherries to create an impressive bouquet. Gradually, I take another tiny gulp and discover each time a different facet. Leather, tobacco, old peaches and oranges, grapefruit, fresh mint, raisins, cherries, cedar, chocolate, caramel, furniture polish, citrus fruits ...
    • Finish
In the aftermath, the flavors of the taste are gradually reflected and exude their full of character and contrasting bouquet. Mild yet powerful voluminous pull the various flavors down through the mouth of the throat. Slowly, the finish lingers and leaves behind old and spicy woody elements dark fruit flavors, leather, tobacco and fresh peppermint on the tongue and on the palate. Oily blends the complex flavors and leave a contented grin on my face ...
