This is a beautiful nose. Initially it has a more islay peat nose I’d say, but right after I said that out loud, an impressive development kicks in! It gives barbecue sauce, roasted Beef, roasted paprika powder, and a great layer of warm red wine notes. Also there is an incredible layer of freshness as well as a layer of Arabic spices. A marvelous, complex nose!
Creamy and smooth as hell. Warm red grapes and meaty. There is cigar tobacco and arabic spices. It’s sophisticated, well rounded and very, very tasteful! Impressive after just 9-10 years.
Long, very long! In the finish the real ledaig character finally comes out. A typical earthy character with a , dirt style of peat. There is a nice layer of salty coastal influences. Dunnage warehouses and old wood.
If only I was able to grab a full bottle....
