This is an all-round top Talisker, extremely tasty and intense, but very harmonious and balanced, not in the least brutal, but creamy and extremely versatile. Class part!
    • Nose
Lemon! Smoke! Algae on the beach, salt spray, old damming, thyme, rosemary, grated geranium, passion fruit, apples, plum jam, kumquat, lilac, dog roses, vanilla, light honey, fresh green pepper
    • Taste
massive, oily, there it is, the Talikser-Chili-Catch, together with very dark chocolate, espresso, lemon rind, passion fruit, kumquat and orange the malt rolls over his tongue ... then he gives room for bitter herbs, thyme and rosemary Even the tart grated geraniums are there, then it calms down and a lot of vanilla and light honey spread; a second sip reveals more of the green fresh pepper and also of the smoke, which appears very aromatic and is again accompanied by algae, tart herbs and espresso. Great creamy mouthfeel, all very intense and very yummy
    • Finish
long, creamy-spicy, fruity, but also sweet, the maritime character plays great again here, slightly tarry, salty, with lots of espresso and beautiful dark chocolate and honey-sweet lemon juice, he slowly sounds ...

N pineapple, gunpowder, passion fruit, some sweet aroma, obvious smoke and dust, leather, after a while, it obviously feels more fruity, softer than COD 25
T is lively and round-bodied, pineapple, tropical fruit, peat, indistinguishable smoke or bacon, sweetness, hot cocoa, punch of alcohol, followed by spice
F is medium-long, sweet and salty, and the sea water has no weird taste. It is a very strong tesca. I personally think it is stronger than 20 bourbons.

A very well balanced Talsiker, I just love it.
    • Nose
Citrus, smoke, yellow fruit and some vanilla
    • Taste
Waxy, Funky some passion fruit, and fresh chili, some influences from the Provance, and a good expresso.
    • Finish
A pleasant long finish which extend the tastes . A sea salt breeze lingers in as well.

A Bodega Sherry European Oak cask fill, with a lovely nose of warm, worn leather
and exotic spices. Peatier with the addition of water. Early citrus fruits on
the palate give way to sweeter apples; then characteristic Talisker peat and
black pepper come through. Sweeter and nuttier with water. The lengthy finish
exhibits lots of smouldering peat and insistent spices.

A fascinating understaded Talisker. Lovely. Now the other bottles of Talker.
    • Nose
Fresh and minty.Herbal notes. Also fruity like: citrus die d fruit. Bloomy: sweet cicely, geranium. The smoke shows in a mix of ink,tar and moor burn. Also smoke maritime notes.
    • Taste
Huge and oily, tongue clinging, but with heat and a constant background mutter of peat which stubbornly refuses to leave the mouth. Water makes it sweet and salty, and more citrus.
    • Finish
      Long,smoked but restrained. Very good.

This is one of those whiskies that makes you believe... Incredible nose, maritime smoky a bit oily you just cant get enough and you immediately know it will be great.... Also very good in the mouth, full force in a nice way, very complex and just very good... 91/92p not sure what people want if they rate this whisky 85 or below... A typical Glenfarclas or what?

Fantastic stuff, allthough the cask may be a little too dominant. Quite spicy price though.
    • Nose
A little reserved at first, needs quite some time to open up. Then an unexpected, floral touch. Herbs, some salt, the sea and some smoky peat. With a few drops of water it gets more fruity. Now the sherry is quite present. As well as some spicy oak. Lots of different aromas. Very complex.
    • Taste
Powerful start, initially strong peat smoke (a lot more than in the nose). Some pepper, herbs and salt. Then quite some oak, again a lot more than in the nose. Surprisingly bitter, becoming pretty dry. Seems older than it actually is. But the very moment, when you think it´s becoming too dry, the sherry kicks in with a superb sweetness and quite some honeyed fruits. Some tobacco as well.
    • Finish
Long finish. Quite bitter and dry, which workes out pretty well in combination with sweet malt and milk chocolate lingering on.

    sample from a friend
    • Nose
Chalky vanilla malt atop a gentle peat, really rather coastal on pebbles. Some of the lemon and freshly shaved ginger. Lightly acrid gasoline at the pump, cold pressed nut and olive oil. Gentle sweetness, almost residual. (with water) Ah, this'll do nicely, thank you very much. Far more going on here. More coastal, ash, sea spray, tarry, and gasoline. Less clearly lemon, but a more keen fruitiness in the back.
    • Taste
Thick and almost inscrutable at first beyond the initial turn to vanilla, smoke, wax, coastal pebbles, and just a spoonful of salt. Rather hot as well. Maybe a few drops of water will open it up. (with water) Yup, this is the stuff. Classic profile on lemon, pepper, salt, and all the right coastal notes with a hint of peat. Really fine stuff here. Trace walnut and macadamia oil.
    • Finish
Yes, more mellow to the vanilla and typical waxy malt and fruit. Some residual bitter walnut and pecan. This one needs water and does very well with it, so it's rather whisky-concentrate. Very good and classic style, so let's reward it, shall we?

Wonderful! If I were a manager, this would be my choice, too.
    • Nose
Sherry!, plum jam, ripe cherries, a lot of chocolate, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, apple strudel with lots of raisins, even a wine note flares up briefly, all the time there's subtle smoke present in the background; if you know where this jewel comes from you can also sense its maritime character, the alcohol is integrated superbly.
With a bit of water there's also mocca, and the Talisker character shines through more distinctly (the sea is getting rougher).
    • Taste
Sweet sherry fruits, precious Christmas cookies with the spices from the nose, chili chocolate (but milk chocolate rather than bittersweet, there's only little oak), cherry cake.
With water it becomes a bit more spicy.
    • Finish
Almond pastry, malt sweetness, the cherry cake lingers, some of the Talisker masculinity shines through.

a special Talisker from a delicious sherry keg
an exciting warm Spanish note mingles with matured taliska notes
from the nose to the finish a bow
it would have become a top rating
but there are 2 points deduction:
annoying and overlapping the slightly bitter to putrid Fassaromen

    90 out of 100 points
    I touched the sky
    • Nose
an old whisky barrel at the harbor
it smells of old smoky damp wood
some rainwater has collected in it
a few leaves rot in the water
      You pour out the water
Now you smell the sweet old sherry very intensely
old wood notes pass through the sherry
      and spicy tannins and vanilla
It's like you could still smell the old dusty cellar vault
      where the barrel lay
You bring salty seawater from the harbor basin
      to wash the barrel
    • Taste
Immediately you feel the salt water in your mouth
      with red hot wort
      and dull wood
      Salt stays on your cheeks
      the glow goes out slowly
Wood and dried sherry remain on the tongue
    • Finish
      medium to long
it remains with your little bit of bitter wood your barrel from the harbor
The dried sherry dissolves slowly and sweetly
becomes more bitter tart malt on the finish
      Salt liquorice with wood

Since the manager had a good hand! Despite the intensity very balanced
    • Nose
Sherry sauce with well-integrated alcohol note right off the bat. European oak is easy to feel in the form of chocolate. Good spuerbarer smoke (campfire) with sea salt. Prune must and beer. The intense sweetness gradually turns into something that reminds me of Asian spices. Over time, the chocolate becomes clearer and some leather comes through.
With H2O comes the pepper, also the smoke and the leather are in the foreground.
    • Taste
Intense and aromatic campfire smoke that easily tilts into the medical. Oak, plum and cinnamon. Nat
    • Finish
Lots of pepper, lots of smoke, lots of oak ...
Intense sherry sauce with prunes and figs. Very long and intense warming

  23. Malt Hans scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

Peaty and fruity aroma, malt, cinnamon, figs,

ripe orange, milk chocolate, anise, raspberries and spruce wood smoke.

Marzipan sweet taste, smoked ham, pepper, nutmeg, Dijon mustard, mint,

orange marmalade, dark chocolate, cappuccino and malt. Long, spicy,

    fruity, malty and peaty end.
