  1. Archer scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Rumfassreifung, can be difficult. Not here. Very successful bottling, the Rumfässer fit perfectly with the Brennereicharakter, and a cut after 15 years seems to have been the perfect moment to fill this whisky.
    • Nose
Sweet and fruity with quince jelly, ripe bananas and mirabelle plums. In the background a very fine smoky note, carried by a bag of wet pebbles, which give the nose a mineral note. Something spicy bacon, on the grill next to the bananas. In the nose very close to a jump bench. The Rumfass sounds through, but is not dominant. Malt and chocolate, roasted coffee beans. Together with the still present fruits (and the quince jelly!) This gives a very tasty nose.
    • Taste
Samig, with high viscosity, he lays on the tongue. This is not flowing, no splashing, no rolling - a pure laying. Immediately filling the mouth with crushed bananas, quince jelly and apricot jam. Salty and mineral. Caramel and soft, warm toffee, creme brulee, chilli chocolate. Just the right dose of spice and fruit, the balance in balance. Gently dries with time and shows signs of well-preserved oak planks. The slightly perceptible smoke in the nose is also found on the tongue, nice balance (along with the chocolate and the oak) to the sweet fruit.
    • Finish
Medium to long, slightly dry, mineral, spicy, peppery, mildly smoky. The sweet fruit notes are still counterpoint (or vice versa) to oak, smoke and seasoning.
