  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

The oak barrel used here for aging has long left its active phase behind, but this does not cause any problems for the distillate from ''Ardmore'', because this can shine without any significant influence of wood. Really well matured!
    • Nose
Well-ripened sweet barley with a sugary basic tenor, acacia honey, minimal beeswax, quince jelly, overripe gooseberries, a floral touch of elderflower, herbal elements in the second row, warm hay steams out, heather, some chamomile, very little fresh thyme, a subtle mineral chalky undertone with remnants of very smooth peat smoke without any medicinal accents, not exactly complex but very inviting and promising
    • Taste
Very light honey with pieces of beeswax appears, the fine herbs are also immediately present, heather and thyme, chamomile tea sweetened with a thick lump of rock candy, the malt is very soft and relaxed in the mouth, elderflowers, quince and gooseberries have been processed into a jelly, a A little candied 'Amalfi' lemon, milk chocolate with mint cream, waiting in vain for a noteworthy oak contribution, the peat smoke has also been reduced almost beyond recognition, the image of a smoldering candle wick with a wafer-thin wisp of smoke emerges, subtly mineral
    • Finish
Very mild and initially only appearing to be of medium length, the worn oak produces a slight dryness, this is softened by a waxy impression, heather, a hint of a pear and quince jelly, an overripe gooseberry burst, sugared ''gunpowder'' green tea makes the replacement, A somewhat mineral finish follows with herbal influences of chamomile as well as thyme and heather, which, with the underlying smoky note, linger in the mouth for quite a while
