    Color: Clear grape juice
    • Nose
      89 89
Very sweet grape juice in the foreground. And behind it - apple juice. Still further back: Menthol fresh, malt coffee, clove, lavender. Overall, heavy fruity, but also fresh. But also quite alcoholic.
    • Taste
      88 88
Tastes somewhere between a whisky and a (good) brandy. I certainly would not have recognized a Glen Moray here. Heavy grape sweetness, delicate oak, quite mild from alcohol, slight malt and floral notes.
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium to (rather) long. Dextrose, tender oak, grapes, flowers.

Conclusion: I still do not know what to think of it. There are definitely no missing notes, no musty, which is quite good for a Glen Moray. But if that was a whisky treat, I'm not sure yet.

PS. Two days later: Now he tastes more like whisky. I think it's really tasty. Due to the moderate price almost an everyday dram. The notes mentioned above are joined by something slightly acidic. For some reason, my association is a bath towel soaked in white wine.

with water: it is very lemony and the heather herbs are stressed much more, while the sherry flavors take a back seat, I like it better without water

Conclusion: A rock-solid malt, which preserves the distillery character despite the sherry influence, but he is also nothing special
    • Nose
malty basic character, slightly earthy / mineral, light fruit (apple) and a few oranges, heather honey, subtle sherry aromas such as nut and toffee, the oak is noticeable, even slightly discreet wood smoke comes through, the hollow alcohol is quite clear with menthol and pepper present
    • Taste
surprisingly oily onset with a distinct sweetness, light sherry flavors, fruit, malt, vanilla, the oak is surprisingly well integrated
    • Finish
medium length, interesting sweetness, also hardly oak, some ginger and licorice, no bitterness behind
