  1. FritzeKrautman scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

The clearly dominant element of this whisky is the oak notes. Anyone who likes it will be absolutely satisfied here. Fortunately there is hardly any bitterness and the whisky is very interesting and easy to drink in its own way.
    • Nose
      87 87
Honey and oak, nutmeg, malt, peach, pepper, subtle vanilla, citrus
    • Taste
      87 87
Chocolate, honey, walnut, turning into musty oak, alcohol quite strong
    • Finish
      88 88
Amazingly long finish with absolutely superficial walnut and oak, hardly any bitterness

the nose is pleasing and lovely; In the mouth and in the finish it is unfortunately nasty sour, unfortunately something went wrong ...

Relatively simple, balanced and yet definitely not boring Speysider.

Slightly spicy, herbs, honey, citrus. Fits.
    • Nose

Pleasant freshness, delicate tart citrus notes and a lot of dry herbs. In the background hides a slight honey sweetness and (probably) what is often referred to as heather. Also a delicate spicy note that goes in the direction of dry wood. The citrus fruits become sweeter over time and predominate with the herbs. If you give it more time, it is followed by some milk chocolate and tart, sweet spices (could almost be some nutmeg and sweet cinnamon).
    • Taste

Delicious. Sweet, almost creamy citrus notes with a little vanilla, slightly oily honey, delicately spicy wood and a great herbal note.

After a while you will find the milk chocolate and the spices again. This is accompanied by a little dry and sweet cocoa. This is followed by fresh, sweet and tart lemonade with a touch of dry herbs.
    • Finish
      86 86
Very pleasant with a delicately tingling spice. Dry wood, sweet herbs, a little vanilla and a honey sweetness follow afterwards.

Overall very consistent and varied. Spicy and slightly sweet at the same time, with herbs and citrus notes. I like it!

An interesting nose - initially only classic and rather one-dimensional Bourbon notes, but then the complexity comes to the fore. Oak, oak spice, light citrus fruits, spices and vanilla. Creamy honey notes and subtle light fruits appear over time. With even more time, orange oil, milk chocolate and a touch of shortbread follow. Not obvious, just subtle. Then it goes back to sweet honey and vanilla notes.
    • Taste
      86 86
Honey sweetness, milk chocolate, spices, vanilla, nuts, oak, some chilli, light fruits.
    • Finish
      87 87
Dry, fruity and malty with chilli and tannins, oak and espresso.

Brief impression of a sample, in my opinion FritzeKrautmann captured the details well.
    • Nose
      85 85
Fermented grapes, pear, dextrose, barley sugar tend to become sour over time
    • Taste
      86 86
Initial tingling on the tongue from the alcohol, which unfortunately accompanies the entire impression in the mouth, also bright fruits and a delicate wood note, which I also noticed in a similar form with the Ben Nevis 1991 # 3862 and the Glenfarclas 1998 # 3587
    • Finish
      87 87
Tart, astringent, a few malty notes, the impression of the oak remains from the taste. For me the best part of the whisky
