    Colour:

    Old Gold.

    Smell:

    A fresh, fruity, round and balanced whisky with aroma’s of stewed pear, grass, roses, hay, cedar wood, vanilla, caramel, vanilla macaron’s, honey, green apple, oak, a hint of coconut and some faint marshmallow’s.

    Taste:

    A creamy, rich and balanced whisky with aroma’s of oak, tannins, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, honey, cedar wood, licorice root, earthy tones, backed apple, hint of hazelnut’s, caramel, green tea and a hint of mint.

    Finish:

    A medium long and drying finish with aroma’s of oak, grass, cinnamon, hay, earthy tones, ginger and tannins.

    Conclusion:

    The palate is much more powerful and spicy than the nose. Overall it’s a nice dram that is quite different from the standard 10YO expression. Not a complex dram or something you have to be concentrated for to enjoy. A simple but good everyday whisky.

    Benromach Organic, original bottling, 43% alc.
    Expansion: new oak barrels (American white oak)
    Region: Speyside, Scotland

    Nose: Malty and mild, youthful and fresh. A slight sweetness floats with you. In addition, unripe bananas and earthy smells. Damp forest floor. A hint of smoke brings spices, along with freshly felled oak.

    Palate: stronger than the nose and very spicy, with pepper and cloves, with woody aromas. Strong oak, even a slight bitterness. In addition, hints of dry peat.

    Finish: oak and spices, medium-long with earthy-peppery aromas.

    Conclusion: a lot of oak wood. I am not a friend of "new oak", not even with this bottling. If you like the young and fast matured whisky you should have tried it.

    More peat/smoke than expected, this still feels strange for a speysider imho. Fresh fruit and some dull notes from the virgin oak.

    Nice dram, but don`t expect the world to move.

    The only Organic whisky from

    Scotland! Wow

    fully controlled with various pure and pure ingredients that this

    whisky taste of organic whisky give. A whisky with a bearing on

    American oak which also comes from protected areas and dosed felled. Many beautiful notes of

    vanilla, toffee and hints of green apple This particular fruit in the

    aftertaste.

    Yuck. I'm all for green & organic, but this tasted like old Birkenstock shoes smell plus some random cold smoke. Utterly strange.
