One of the best Springbanks I know. Mega part
    • Nose
Sweet, mineral, light smoke, accompanied by plums and sour raisins, fresh coffee and chocolate, the sweet aromas combine with musty warehouse notes, very mature and elegant oak
    • Taste
Sweet again with red fruits and wonderful creamy hints of smoke, then the typical mineral citrus from Springbank comes through, the pressure in the mouth builds up slowly and pushes backwards more and more, a slightly astringent and yet again very elegant oak accompanies the whole
    • Finish
Very sweet and now the degree of ripeness is much more than beautiful before, the sweet red fruits are creamy on the palate and stick slightly smoky forever

An incredibly gorgeous Springbank! I love the combination of creamy sweet, the wonderful fruit note and the partly dark and earthy elements! Gorgeous, just gorgeous!

    • Nose
Reddish caramel shimmers with an orange glow in the glass. From the streaks sticking to the glass wall of my Premium Snifter dissolve and long drops, even visually, this Springbank is a real treat. Sweet caramel and toffee come together on the first nosing with tangerines and subtle roasted aromas, white and red grapes exude their lovely aroma while apricots and peaches slowly come into their own. The nose is incredibly mild and fruity, maybe even a bit too one-dimensional and too soft ... Sugary with plums and vineyard peach umwned the Springbank's nose, minimal show citrus aromas and sour fruit notes, hints of milk chocolate, now and then shows the nose from its floral and almost mineral and earthy side. The alcohol is wonderfully involved, slowly the salivation is stimulated, I look forward to the first sip.
    • Taste
Creamy and velvety, the first sip flows over the tongue and flatters the palate. Sweet berry flavor plays with caramelized sugar and toffee, dried raisins stick with cedar wood on the palate, slowly creates pleasant sharpness, soothing warmth rises. Slightly musty and decayed earth tones alternate with lemons and grapefruit, an incredible sweetness and voluminous fruit cloud blends in wonderfully with the sour citrus fruits and the tart, spicy wood elements. Minimal leather and tobacco, the mouthfeel is extremely creamy, the saliva is stimulated every minute. Smoke? ... I think I notice a really subtle smoke. I stop for a moment, close my eyes and just enjoy this wonderful drop ....
Chubby warmth floods the entire mouth area, the mouthfeel is just incredibly creamy and fruity sweet!
    • Finish
The wonderful aromas of the taste are still resting on the palate, the chubby heat slowly fades away. The creamy and sweet mouthfeel awakens the feeling as if it never ends. Voluminous, the sweet fruit aromas with their acidic citrus notes for a felt eternity in memory, with earth tones and walnuts, the Springbank then unfortunately but at some point from ...

the nose is, indeed, better neat.. suede leather, burnt brown sugar over almonds, orange peel and dirty engine oils.. the whole gamut of Springbank-ian minerality and funk with an added layer of sweetness and fruits.

with water, strong menthol, camphor and linden honey
    • Taste
      90 90
a dram that is different from one sip to next.. continuously changing.. oak appears one time.. sweet licorice then.. bitter medicine.. white fruits.. green lime peel, even..

      strong.. no frills.. just action.
    • Finish
      88 88
grapefruit-like bitter-dry, long.. sharp, almost fierce and unexpectedly so for “only” 50 pc abv

    A beautiful knight.
I'm not a big fan of port ripening, but at Springbank it often works and it fits here too.

The nose is a little reserved at first, but opens up with a little patience and delivers the typical springbank notes plus berry fruit from the port cask. The malt really turns up on the palate: a rich, dense, intense malt with beautiful red berry fruit, minerality and a surprising amount of smoke. Plus a long, intense finish.

With a few drops of water, it becomes rounder in the mouth and the Springer DNA becomes clearer. I like the nose better pure.
    • Nose
Pier of an industrial port. Salty sea breeze with a fine veil of smoke that blows over the harbor. Red berry jam, red currants, cranberries, mineral undertones, some leather and motor oil. Then a little peach.
    • Taste
Powerful, rich, mineral and fluffy, with red berry jam, red currants, some motor oil and cigar smoke. Leather. Spices. Oily.
Wonderfully dense and concentrated, massive, for chewing.
    • Finish
Great length. Mineral, again the cigar smoke, red berry jam, leather, harbor jetty. Nice and harmonious.

The port influence is rather limited in this one.

    • Taste
