Macduff doesn't show up in my glass very often, what I do know is that apple juice is a common note. First sniff and whoop there it is, apple juice! Furthermore a flower bouquet, unripe banana, dried fig, cranberry, kiwi, toffee, orange marmalade, sultana, Mon Cheri bonbon, cream sherry, hazelnut, roast coffee bean and some wood polish in the back. That wasn't a very active sherry butt we might as well conclude. On a positive side, pleasant aroma's and well constructed. Cask strength would be the best choice here as I feel it's a little restrained overall.
Different to what I was expecting after the nose. Astringent, alcoholic and fairly dry. So, this sherry butt wasn't completely lazy after all. There's apple, apricot, blood orange, cranberry, kiwi, toffee, cacao dusting, cruesli, old honey, flat cola, salt and pepper. Found this to be a little too aggressive on the alcohol and didn't like the development. This Macduff inherited all the bad genes of the sherry butt..
Medium in length with dried apricot, blood orange, toffee, flat cola, pepper and wet pebble.
