lovely sherry smell. the burben it's to domenated over the short period of the sherry in the cask. sherry( in beginning) and disepere and the burben take over, when it's cold 80 it whas reely cold room. When it's normal temp it's lovely balanced with ex-burbon and sherry.

    • Nose
Grapes, apple, honey, cereals, some really sweet cherry jam, in the background still a very light herbal note, after some time strawberries and blackberries, a very small soil
    • Taste
Honey, apple, lime, some instant coffee and some mild pepper

Overall this tastes like the standard Dalwhinnie with a bit of extra sweetness and a touch of sherry character. I don't think it's particularly better or worse than the standard bottle, but I do think it would be significantly better with a deeper sherry character. Just feels like a bit of a superficial finishing without much thought put towards really maximizing the product.

First ripening in refill barrels of American and European oak. Second ripening in ex-Bodega Oloroso barrels made of re-flamed American oak with heavily re-burned new ends (American oak).
