1272) The Arran, Single Island Malt (Batch 2005)
An unopened old bottle that tuck away for quite some times in the cabinet until it was recently opened. Tried once few years ago from another opened bottle of different releases and were quite impressed back then. So sort of urge to try this again from a newly opened bottle.

N- Still fresh, lively and malty. Doses of mashed cherry and apple that evolved to chocolate and sweet spices. Pickled ginger, whiff of smokes with more sweet citrus and candy comes thru in a charming style. Perhaps some sulphur linger, but love the citrus sharpness that clinging on so well with brown caramel and coconut scents. Quite remarkable in this young vat from young distillery back 15years ago. (90/22)

P- Semi oily with teasing spiciness, bitter caramel and juiciness at the right balance. Rich with amicable feather light texture that are so inviting for more sips. (89/22)

F- Long, lasting spicy pepper and spices, well zest-ed with citrus. Not much flaw to pick here. Present of woodiness that remains solid. Interesting young distillate that lays the foundation of some great Arran of current days. (87/21)

    B/B- 90/22
