Its oloroso and straight to the point, its woody and old but without being dry.
Definitely older than 15 year old this bad boy.
Big sherry bomb, its heavy oloroso influence from the moment the cork POPs. But it's a dirty one, sulphur is speaking over the crowd in the beginning.
As it develops layers upon layers of dark fruits come, brambles, blackcurrant and some red cherries just to mix things up. Some oranges, typical to GlenDronach, caramel and some spices, reminds me of a Christmas candle. Theres of soft smokiness in there, I'm smelling coal smoke (that's the sulphur for you).
Fat, oily and full of flavour. Fruity on arrival with tangy orange and smoldering caramel, lots of spice on this gripping christmas pudding. A lot of oak, boarding on over-oak but without being dry.
Spices, lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, an increasing dryness and oak. Long long finish with caramel and subtle smoke continuing on and on.
