Whisky Reviews for Glenmorangie 18-year-old

62 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.58 points

  1. StyrianSpirit scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Elegant, intentive and undoubtedly good. Personally, I miss even a little unexpected, "dirty" note or an intense-dense depth. Basically, this is a very clear, fine sherry malt.
    • Nose
Everything starts with a very nice light fruity nose. For me, a few Grappa Nuts now join us, berries and from somewhere comes the barrel; are 18 years.
    • Taste
The malt comes wonderfully oily and now sweet and dark fruity in the mouth. Plum, some cinnamon, caramel. That's what they are, the sherry casks. Everything very clearly done.
    • Finish
In the medium-long finish, the fruitiness is complemented by strong oak bittern notes. That fits.

  2. Archer scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A successful "big brother" of the Glenmorangie Original.
    • Nose
Ripe fruits are immediately noticeable: pears and green grapes fill the nose. Even after prolonged Verriechen the fruits are still amazingly active.
    • Taste
Full-bodied sweet fruit, with a distinct oak aroma. Something sherry is to be found. The grapes from the nose turn into raisins on the tongue. During the fading away again shows the 18 -year storage period in oak barrels.
    • Finish
Medium long and very complex in its reflection of the nose and the palate.

  3. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

medium sherry -> nougat -> walnut -> oak / cocoa, light spicy sharpness, rather intense, yummy, but not filigree, which makes it more with power than with elegance

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Solid highlander, slightly fruity and beautiful oak notes, minimal sherry influence. However, a little alcoholic. Good, but no excitement.

  5. Archer scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Pretty nice, but for a 18-year-old with relatively little depth.

  10. Koning scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

The grown up brother of the Glenmorangie 10, nicely sweet and fruity !
    • Nose
Very fruity nose loaded with sweet tropical fruits (passion fruit, pineapple, mango),dates and raisins. Furthermore walnut, caramel, popcorn and flowers
      .
    • Taste
Full bodied (for 43%) and creamy.Passion fruit again, also nectarine and yellow raisins. Futhermore vanilla, honey, white chocolate, coffee and a bit metallic.
    • Finish
Somewhat less rich: Garden herbs, woody, sour fruits (passion fruit again, citrus fruits), a bit of vanilla, a tiny bit of smoke
