  1. JoshNRW scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

(Update: second sample convinced me again with 89 points. Simply a nice, simple whisky that is fun, tasty and honest).

Great bottling with the advantage that there are no dusty aromas and no cardboard box, but the quality still reminds us of the good times.
After all, it was bottled 32 years ago.

Glenfarclas - a picture-book Highland whisky and one of the best distilleries for whisky lovers. I am very enthusiastic about this simple bottling and it confirms to me the consistently good quality of Glenfarclas. Even if Glenfarclas has not been able to consistently offer this quality in its entry-level whiskies over the last 10 years, the standard range is at least still satisfactory.

    A whopping 89 points from a fanboy.

Oh yes, that will be nice.
A fruity old-school sherry malt from the Highlands.

Fruity malt aromas, no tartaric acid at all, mint aromas and nuts, light, soft leather, a bit of Earl Grey, toffee and wax.

The aromas are of course light and weightless, but for my taste wonderfully round and harmonious, not at all thin.

I can smell it for so long because that's exactly how simple sherry standards should be. So clean and simple, no off notes or weak casks.

The Glenfarclas distillate, the region and the house style are immediately recognizable.

Here too, no tartaric acid, light, simple but completely authentic sherry fruit aromas. Multivitamin fruit juice, very fine aromas.
Again fruity malt, again a few nuts (hazelnuts), toffee and chocolate, raisins.

I don't need anything more and if this quality were still the standard today, then even 10-year-old standards with only 40 percent would be a lot of fun.
You can just feel that there were still enough decent sherry casks back then and that Glenfarclas used them.

Clean, juicy, a bit thinner than the nose and taste, but still flawless.
      Slightly mineral at the end.

The finish is medium to long, but not super intense. But intensity isn't necessary here either.
