Whisky Reviews for Auchentoshan 1991 DR

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 75.11 points

  1. markjedi1 did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

The A.D. Rattray whiskies which form their Cask Collection portfolio are sourced from distilleries throughout Scotland. This extensive range of whiskies is bottled at natural strength and colour without any unnecessary chill-filtration. I'm trying their 16 Year Old Auchentoshan from a... sherrycask?! Yep, that's what it says on the label. Nevertheless, this one has the colour of white wine, so pale! Obviously a refill cask.
    • Nose
On the nose, you'll have a hard time discerning any sherry cask influence, but given time, you will. Mostly vanilla and heather are at work here, though, followed by grain cookies. Very floral and sweet. But also a rather misplaced touch of olive oil.
    • Taste
Despite the high ABV, this is one easily drinkable. And very good! Vanilla, white fruits, caramel and a touch of rum.
    • Finish
The finish is sweet on vanilla and heather and lasts quite long.

  2. Bachess scored this whisky 75 points Super Administrator

Number 15 of Tina's advent calendar 2010 After a really super whisky (nr 14) now it's a bad one.

Not much users scored on this whisky. I had only 30 points.Immature whisky, too yeasty, malty for me.
