Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 2007

  1. Arquebus scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

1st fill px cask for 11 years - not a lot to go wrong in my opinion. Yes there's always a possibility of the dreaded sulphur, and who wants a whisky dominated by sherry so the original malt gets hidden... blah blah blah.

Tasted at the distillery - this was a thoroughly enjoyable dram that (in my opinion) - exudes class.

I was particularly happy to find this on offer at the shop in Bruichladdich Distillery as only days before I chanced  upon a Private Bottling of a 9 yr old PX cask Bruichladdich called 'The Persebus' and this dram was very much the highlight of the night (second only to the company and the sunset over Loch Indaal).

score with a few drops of water - as this brings out a desert menu dominated by chocolate.

  4. Mr.Wong scored this whisky 93 points Expert Senior

I would call this one liquid walnuts. It has the typical sweet sherry flavors from the PX cask of dried raisins and figs. However, it also contains delicious walnuts which make this whisky a blast.
    • Nose
      Dried figs, strong sherry notes
    • Taste
      Sherry, walnuts, dried figs
    • Finish
      Long sherry

  5. grinface scored this whisky 89 points Expert Junior

Sweet like hell, then sherry gallore and also some dried meat. Drying in the aftertaste and chocolaty if you add water. Great stuff!
