    • Nose
Equally the usual spicy and sour sweetness of Mackmyra, which is supplemented here with beautiful notes of a summer herb meadow. Mouth-watering aromas of sweet fruits as they rise from a fruit basket of ripe apples, pears and grapes and fill the whole room. Strong citrus notes, especially limes and juicy grapefruit. Really rich vanilla and sweet toffee with hints of butter caramel reminiscent of a Glenrothes. Fresh and slightly moist spicy-bitter tobacco leaves and a proper saltiness enhance the range of flavors even more. The Swedish oak tree is also omnipresent right from the start, like a freshly laid coarse plank floor on which this Mackmyra can unfold. The oak is rather soft and far from typical old wooden barrels, rather a freshly cut and slightly sanded wooden beams.
    • Taste
It is as sweet and fruity as a filled fruit stew from its own garden, including ripe apples and pears and some firm peaches. All accompanied by a woody spice like a wood-fired log. A peppery pungency dresses the entire mouth. It is getting drier with pleasant tannins that are slightly astringent but never bitter. In the whole mouth beautiful aromas of strong browned toast and a strong espresso. The oak is bulky and present and also here rather bright, fresh and a little rough and reminds of fresh sawdust in a joinery. The dryness is dampened by the beautiful herbaceous and fruity fruit sweetness, which spills up again and again.
    • Finish
The finish is quite long, offers wonderfully powerful toasty aromas, malty malt and caramel and again this beautiful soft polished oak wood. A true palate that resonates for a long time.
