I had the opportunity to take a third bottle from a friend. When I tested it for the first time, the malt blew me away completely. I am now writing this review after some time and testing again. I was brought back to reality. Possibly also because the bottle has been open for some time and did not have a high fill level. However, it is still a very good dram with which you have fun to spend longer.

The 18-year-old Speysider with a pastel color comes with 50% more power than expected. The best experiences are in the taste and in the finish. Definitely not a dram for every day, you have to give it some time.
    • Nose
      86 86
The malt is quite sweet with notes of vanilla, allspice and cashew nuts. In the background, yellow fruits that are not quite ripe appear.
    • Taste
      88 88
The intensity and complexity of the taste is greater than the nose. Peppery spice, malty sweetness and fresh wood are very dominant. You can perceive dark cocoa powder and light notes of citrus oils.
    • Finish
      87 87
The finish lasts for a medium length and is very intense. Now there is a bit of bitterness to the chocolate flavors. Later the finish goes towards herbs and grass.
