The nose is nice, but the mouth is absolutely not up to par.
    • Nose
Soft and melted, it presents a nice rancio. We are first on raisins, with this sharp point that some sherries have and that evokes blood orange juice before evolving to an exotic content (pineapple very sweet, passion fruit). It opens slowly with notes of orange jam, quince paste, caramel and coffee. The wood is present (sawdust and old furniture) but not dominant. The whole is not very intense but remains very pleasant. The woody, however, tends to be more present at the second nose.
    • Taste
The mouth, as often with these old 40% G & M does not keep the promises of the nose. The attack is cool first before it turns watery. The wood is dominant, bringing bitterness and pungency and a slight astringency. We do not find at all the pleasant fruity nose, with the exception of slight acidulous notes. The end of the mouth even manages to be alcoholic. Pity.
    • Finish
The finish is medium in length and unfortunately in the prolongation of the mouth. A tannic bitterness invades the palate leaving no other aroma to develop.
