Palate: Thick and creamy. Angel food cake, crème brulee, burnt caramel and spicy ginger – sounds cloying but its rather savory. Somewhat salty and mineral with a hint of lemon.
Finish: Turns bitter, with overbrewed black tea, chalky dry malt, caramel, and burnt ginger. Long.
Score: B+ (87 if you must); I believe this was bottled for a specialty store in the Netherlands. Haven’t had much Pulteney but this seems like a classic Cadenhead oddball cask. Very nice but not incredible.
