This sample was completely surprisingly packaged with other whiskys. A big THANKS to André for this great rehearsal. I had already forgotten the “code” after its introduction. I'm not a NAS friend and then with only -XXX- on the bottle not anyway!, ... I would never buy. As far as I said in advance: I wouldn't have missed anything without this tasting. Yes, the nose is! it is masterful.

Here I have to list in a very classic way: juicy pear, red grapes, similar to cherry juice, cookies or biscuits, wine gum fruity, some wood wax shimmers through ... very floral sweetness and slightly sour notes ... oha, almost complex.
Now it is clear that this nose is the decoy for the unnamed "Black-XXX-NAS".

Very difficult to describe. Despite enough water, he presses fully on the Spirit wood spice rail. Exactly hot and peppery right in the middle of the tongue. But subsides quickly and then stays sweet and sour. Then herb grass notes and something like a pharmacy candy in the background. Difficult to describe.
It's a shame that he doesn't make it through the middle. There is not enough age in the base ... Texture and body are underdeveloped. But the final is creamy ... after all.

Unfortunately he did not keep up medium to short and without a transition. Already from the palate there is a lack of depth and penetration. Long warm and peppery. Spiced bitter citrus note. A simple malt with a great nose. But that's it, I think the PLV is very weak.
But again mentioned, the nose is wow!

    A dram I won't remember long.
    Marketing product with modest content.

with water: with three drops of water, the whisky makes wonderful, the sweetness is intensified, and the fruits are better to show, while the spice of the Rye is more in the background, but in the finish he flattens off

Conclusion: very unusual by the finish, but also very interesting. Maybe you could have ripened the fabric a bit longer before the finish. The rest fits. Overall, but no Easy Drinking Whisky

nice bright and fruity sweetness that gets an interesting spice kick through the Rye. Apples, toffee, but also a floral note come to the fore. The alcohol is well integrated
    • Taste

here it is similar, the Rye comes through noticeably, without dominating, in addition a little fruit, beautiful sweetness and some oak spices (ginger and cloves)

medium to short, he is unfortunately jumped quickly from the tongue again. The fruits continue, the oak and the rye spice become even stronger, dry wood, wood chips, cloves and a slight bitterness are felt

Something completely different. The Glenlivet has gotten a finish in Canadian Rye casks, which have given off a strong aroma. I'm a bit between strange and cool, but the name "Code" is program. I have not had such a thing in my glass before.

    Colour: gold.
Nose: sweet with apples, olive oil, croissant, fruits, ginger, oak and beewax notes.
Mouth: sweet with fruits, red apples, caramel, pears, oak and spices notes.
Finish: middle and sweet with spices, oak, caramel and red apples notes.
The Glenlivet Code is a well balanced, smooth and tasty whisky with light spinosity of youth. I gave 84 points.

Something new from Glenlivet but perhaps a little too much on the new oak.

Very Glenlivet, pears and green apples on arrival with a sweet touch of toffee. Little burnt wood in the back with a soft peppery note.
    • Taste
      84 84
Strong and spicy, lots of ginger and pepper here. New oak with some tree sap. Boiled sweets and liquorice. Sour apple notes creeping at the back.
    • Finish
      80 80
Short on sour apple and bitter apple peel.
