    Delicious, maybe an ex-Bourbon Cask Ben Nevis? Maximum 48%, at least 18 years old?

    After dissolution: Almost 22 years old, wow, what a fruit basket, just great to enjoy in the beautiful season!
    • Nose
      89 89
      Vanilla, citrus, coconut macaroons and a slightly bitter undertone like broth, dandelion flowers, a little lilac.
    • Taste
      90 90
      Spicy, infinitely smooth, herbal, sweet-fruity and flower honey at its finest.
    • Finish
      88 88
      A little oak comes through, gentle end with harmonious fruits.

      Lots of sour fruits like gooseberry, natural yoghurt, a pinch of nutmeg, but also an interesting fatty / oily / greasy note beneath it all that dirties things up a bit. (Perhaps we can ascribe this effect to the sulphur components resulting from the distillery's worm-tub condensers? Reminds me of Dalwhinnie in that respect...) Some umami as well. Much deeper and more interesting than I had expected.

      Very sweet, much less sour than the nose had me assume. Plenty of wood spices and all kinds of oils (cooking oils, machine oils etc).

      Lime juice galore. Tart and acidic, with only a residual splash of sweetness and some pretty crisp oak.

      Orange, tangerine, apricot, physalis, peach, gooseberry, mango, passion fruit, in addition to all these rather yellow fruits, there are also a few not yet ripe fruits, cereals, some honey, a few grasses, some earth, lemon, fresh cut branches

      Gooseberry, apricot, dried apricot, physalis, some not yet ripe fruits, lime, grapefruit, wood

      Honey, wax, apricot, light grapes, cereals, caramel, roasted almonds, gooseberries, some peach, some apple, some lemon, some earth, a few grasses

    It tastes good to me. Rather fresh, sour fruit. Fresh, juicy wood. Also flowery notes. But it doesn't seem young, but rather surprisingly lively for old age.

    More fruits and freshness in the nose, some more sweetness in taste and a bit heavier and less tasteless in the finish. But very pleasant overall.

      Fruity, citrus, lemon, Dreft detergent. Also very floral, some vanilla, tangerine. Grassy as well, very fresh.

      Soft and smooth, a little tingling. Sweet, caramel, vanilla, honey. Orange too, pretty full taste.

      Still a little pickering, licorice, honey, only some fruitiness left. Middle long.

    Great malt, with 2-3% more wumms it would be absolutely outstanding.

      smoked papaya, passion fruit, pineapple. wet, burned charcoal. Gooseberry, white currant.
    • Taste

      Sweetness of the fruits, at the same time nice acidity. Wood wort always comes through.
      This subtle smoky note accompanies everything wonderfully.
      very complex, but never overwhelmed.
