Whisky Reviews for Laphroaig 1996 DD

- Nice surprise for this Laph Daily Dram, to recommend!
The first impression is very medicinal, much more than a classic OB 10 years. On hand on camphor and ether notes, hospital corridor in short.
The aeration then reveals lemon and a little salt. A wet woody veil, see earthy, encompasses the whole. After at least half an hour of aeration, more fruity and sweet notes manage to break through: the marshmallow summarizes pretty well what I feel at this moment.
Nice nose very typical.
Surprising in the sense that I expected a surge of power in view of the nose. On the contrary, the first contact is smooth, despite the 55%. The texture is oily and pleasantly carpets the tongue and the palate. Beyond the peat and smoke, we face fruity touches, a little like crocodile style sweets.
The mouth is the endorsement of the nose and does not disappoint.
Very long and on a light veil of smoke. It leaves a silky impression in the mouth.
